Sooner or later every origami artist designs an elephant. Here is my first one. I designed it during the German Origami Convention 2010.
The idea was to make it as simple as possible. The model is quite easy to fold.

Folded from a 20 x 20 cm square of origami paper.

Update:
Here are the folding instructions for the elephant:

Thank you all for your kind comments!

@Nin-jueTheKirin: I think so too! You can get a lot more shape with simplicity if you use the right techniques!

@Only-Tourist-or-not: It is not wet-folded but the model would be good for that. I simply used a thicker origami paper that is more firm that the regular japanese one. I used so-called "tension folds" and tension locks" to make the model appear more plastic.

@Blue-Paper: Thank you for your interest in this model. I'd like to make more diagrams but they are quite time-consuming and sadly i don't have much of time at hand right now. If i should find time to make a diagram for the elephant i will gladly notice you.

Quite a cute little model :) any chance you'd make some diagrams for it? I'd love to try folding it
